New pen for sketching on skin...works really well flows easily, a little chunky, but does not drag and stick on the skin like other pens I have used...
The reasons some designs remain with me can vary...this was the last design I did before leaving my family in South Africa. A very special time spend with my brother in Plettenberg Bay, I bought him a book on the stars and we were lying under them...it goes deeper but that's just me being soppy...
Fitting a speech into the map with key parts readable...This speech from Franklin D Roosevelt, and design came about as I had just returned from SA and a suburb called Franklin D Roosevelt...
It's been a wild and crazy ride that finds me here, very busy on the tattoo front. I have spent so long in this life pushing at doors looking for an opening for my creative work, chased countless ideas, almost been there, but a miss is as good as a mile! Been a round peg in a square hole...then this, a tattoo contest which I am not even sure I know how or why I did but I have found my niche.
I cannot be happier, I am working more hours than I ever have, but for those that know me I love drawing! Then there are the guys I do the drawings for I have 'met' some truly awesome characters, been part of their story or journey and given them something they are going to have for ever...its special and doesn't half make me feel good. I have done quite a few now and yes there are some that I have put in a folders and stored ... but there are more than a few special ones that stay with me. Some of the journeys and stories, at present feel like they will stay forever, memories of the very young whose names I remember, people's happy times, inspiration, hopes, fears, passion ... its special and I think it makes me human.
This post is almost a thank you to the guys I have been working design for, I love love it and look forward to doing more...
The client of this design wanted to work the colour himself so he got a bonus of a template/outline to colour...First design to use some of my textiles background working with pattern.
